Some of the lovely feedback about cocoboat...

" There is such a personal service from Cocoboat that you really do feel as though you are receiving a present instead of an order. My parcel came boxed, wrapped in gorgeous pale blue tissue and adorned with the cutest little Cocoboat sticker and ribbons." Country Heart & Home

"What a fab store - my BIL would love one of those footstools for lazing in front of Sky Sports News!" Pink Poppy

"Thank you for posting about Cocoboat. I have been struggling to find good quality online shops for my Christmas shopping." Christina

"it's no surprise that I'm rather taken with these endearing stone birds from Cocoboat. They cost £132 for the whole family but only £32 for the little quail on his own (10cm high). Not bargain basement prices but not expensive, especially considering that they're stone, so should last forever, and that each bird is handmade to order in Devon made "by Tony and Doreen". Aww. I like that." Kate Burt

Gift ideas for the dinner party host

Having hosted dinner parties myself, I know that they can be a lot of work to organise, particularly when you are entertaining a large number of guests. But it’s not all fun and games on the other side too as there is so much to take into consideration when you’re invited to a dinner party as a guest – what to wear, who else will be there, what will be on the menu, what do we walk about, etc. But perhaps the most important consideration of all is what to give to the host on arrival.

Bringing a gift to your dinner party host is one of the unspoken rules of society – it’s not compulsory but turning up empty-handed gives the impression that you’re either a) mean and tight-fisted, or b) ungrateful and inconsiderate of the incredibly hard work your host has gone into on your behalf.

So to avoid being tarnished with either of these labels, it’s best to bring a gift which you can simply hand over at the door and then proceed to enjoy the rest of the party, guilt-free. However, bringing the right thing can often be a dilemma in itself but fear not, there is a solution: instead of the usual bottle of wine and box of chocolates (let’s face it, everyone else will probably bring that and there’s only so much alcohol and calories your host would be grateful for), why not go for something useful and thoughtful like this Dolce Vita tea gift set from Cocoboat. This beautifully presented gift set comes with four unusual bone china and bamboo dessert cups and tea trays for a distinctive tea service. It also comes with a ribbon tea sampler box with delicious infusers of Belgian mint, orchid vanilla, raspberry nectar and much more – also available on their own as a separate gift.

Alternatively, if you really want to show your host how much you appreciate their hard work in putting on the dinner party, nothing says it better than aromatherapy candles. You can choose from essence of bergamot for relaxation, jasmine-scented for a shot of aphrodisiac, a rosemary/lemongrass combination for inspiration, or essence of grapefruit for some soul-lifting. Short of running the bath for your host, turning up with anyone of these gifts is more than likely to guarantee you an invite for the next dinner party…and the one after, and the one after…

Tips on enjoying your alfresco dining

Whether you fancy a barbeque in the garden this weekend with the family, or having a more formal sit down meal with friends around the patio table, alfresco dining is the perfect way to enjoy quality time with loved ones.

The core ingredients of a good outdoor dining experience are food, entertainment, good conversation and plenty of laughter, but if you really want to wow your guests and add a touch of sophistication that will keep the conversation flowing all evening, throw some Tea-Over-Ice teas in the mix, brewed in special sculpturally designed pitchers and served in a Morehouse double-walled glass which is designed to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. This classy range of products from Cocoboat provide an excellent alternative to the much-loved British cup of tea and serves that all-important purpose of heralding the arrival of summer so bring on the iced teas, I say!

Don't forget you'll need something to sit on so have a look at our best-selling range of Fayence garden furniture and our fabulous Penguin deckchairs.
